NUTRITION IS KEY…

Overview

I highly advise you understand the concept of nutrition first before continuing…

Generally, all you have to do to lose weight is to be in a caloric deficit.
Pretty simple right?

You should still understand generally what a caloric deficit is.

Caloric Deficit: What happens exactly?

Caloric Deficit - Eating less than the required amount of calories needed for the body to function.

Calories Eaten < Calories Burned

Your body has various types of energy but its main source of energy is glucose.

Glucose in specific is used for organ function. No other energy type can be used for this.

We get glucose from the carbohydrates in food.

In a caloric deficit, the restriction of carbohydrates results in the restriction of glucose.

Without new glucose from carbohydrates, the body will use its emergency reserves of glucose called glycogen.

Once the body depletes its glucose reserves, the body resorts to breaking down Body Fat and Muscle Tissue to get glucose.

The goal of a caloric deficit is to force your body to cannibalize itself for energy. To get your body to do this, you must deplete the body’s glucose levels and restrict the body from receiving new glucose from carbohydrates.

Since the body is breaking down both Body Fat and Muscle Tissue, you should emphasize eating protein and incorporate weight training to minimize muscle loss…
